A/S/L

23/M/TX

Now that we have the important part across, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Jaelas, err Mirph, err Elindi. OK, my name is Spence. I enjoy playing and listening to music. I play bass, guitar, drums, harmonica, and ukulele. I enjoy my wife, who will also be contributing to this blog (Hi, Honey!). I also enjoy my job as a student minister at a church in Texas.

I also play WoW, casually.

Something you need to understand, though, is that I would be hardcore if I could. When I have the time, I love experiencing the depth of WoW just as much as the breadth of it. I love gearing. I love min/maxing (to an extent). I love making sure my raids have every stinkin buff that we can possibly get. The problem is, I cannot play WoW hardcore. I have too many responsibilities outside of Azeroth that are just more important. There's my health, there's family, there's the awesome kids in my youth group (OK, when you guys find this blog you can make fun of me, but at least I gave you a shout out!). Yes, you got me, I'll just say it, RL>WoW.

Sometimes my "hardcore" tendencies do get me into trouble. I tend to irritate people in my guild sometimes. Nothing is worse for a casual player than a... less casual... trying to push on them all the time. If I had time to be as "hardcore" as I'd like, it would be one thing, but when I am the guy who pushes people to be to raids every week and then misses 3 weeks in a row because other things come up, it tends to backfire. Luckily, my guild has leaders who are much more - balanced - than me, and can somehow manage to keep me happy in a guild that also keeps, well, my wife happy.

So here I am, a casual. I am a casual who struggles to remain a casual. But just because I don't (usually) play WoW until I pass out, doesn't mean I am OK with missing out on a lot of the fun that the college kids who are flunking stats / full grown men living in their mom's basement have. My hope is that my posts will help people get the best out of their limited time in Azeroth.

I am glad you have found your way to Cool Runners. Whatever the reason is that you are here, I hope that each time you visit you are able to leave with a better set of buffs than you came with.

God bless and safe travels,
Spence

  2. I kinda feel bad for the "full grown guy living in mom's basement." I seriously googled that or something like it, and found 2 or 3 blogs that had already used that picture for the exact same thing...
